PURPOSE OF POSITION:

To support and contribute to the adoption of an Intelligent Risk Culture by creating, implementing, and managing risk management processes and tools. This includes implementing and ensuring ongoing compliance across the group of companies, as well as developing and delivering necessary training programs, and applying effective change management practices. The role also involves conducting risk assessments to identify potential risks and vulnerabilities within each group company. To support with the review and management of external contracts by defining processes and controls, and working closely with legal counsel. Additionally, to raise and manage expectations and risks in a structured and transparent manner, continuously drive improvements to reduce operational efforts and business risks, and contribute to the deliverables and growth of the Business Risk team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Legal/Contracting

  • Work closely with our legal partners when required.
  • Understand the various group companies and their client contracting terms & conditions and how it impacts each business.
  • Support the Business Risk Manager with review of client and vendor comments for contract agreements negotiations.
  • Record and communicate any applicable vendor obligations to internal teams for compliance.
  • Support with the upkeep and maintenance of external contract processes and controls.
  • Format any requested contract drafts and templates.
  • Support the Business Risk Manager with any external contracting design and actions.
  • Provide input and guidance towards our client contracting design and templates where required.

Risk Management

  • Support with the adoption of a Intelligent Risk Culture and initiatives.
  • Support with the design, implementations and maintenance of the Risk Management Framework and associated methodologies.
  • Regularly provide training and awareness of Intelligent Risk Culture and Business Risk initiatives to the businesses.
  • Contribute to the design and facilitation of the monthly Business Risk Forum.
  • Identify and define process optimisation and implement where needed.
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify potential risks and vulnerabilities within the Group of companies.
  • Support other companies and departments in implementing risk management strategies and practices when applicable.
  • Ensure the correct processes, procedures, reporting, and documentation are available and maintained.
  • Responsible for design, implementation and management of early warning signs and key indicators to mitigate risks in a proactive, transparent, and structured way related to business, legal or compliance risks.
  • Complete responses for any client or vendor risk requests and questionnaires.

Compliance

  • Define, support or manage (where applicable) the maintenance of compliance throughout each Company with the relevant laws, regulations, vendor agreements and internal policies and standards.
  • Support with the use and implementation of the policy framework with effective change management practices.
  • Support with the upkeep, in a centralised location, of company Policies.
  • Review company policies and provide feedback and guidance to other where needed.
  • Support and train leaders regarding compliance and policies.
  • Support with design and implementations of Data Governance and associated processes, controls and training to ensure continued compliance.
  • Support with design and implementation of Health & Safety and associated processes, awareness and training.
  • Support with Information Security Risk Management (incl but not limited to Business Continuity Plans) and associated processes, analysis, controls and training.

Insurance

  • Define and implement the insurance claim process.
  • Complete and submit requested insurance claims.
  • Support the Business Risk Manager with the annual Group Cyber Risk Insurance policy submission.

Client Contracting

  • Guide and Support the Business Risk Coordinator with any client contracting when applicable.
  • Guide and support the Business Risk Coordinator with any process improvements, enhancements and implementations.

Administration/Governance

  • Support with maintaining legal contract documentations, version control and formatting associated.
  • Support with the upkeep of the company Policy / Process / Standard (Governance) Blueprint.
  • Design and provide training to other stakeholders where applicable to new tools, ways of doing, or processes rolled out by the Business Risk team.
  • Support with the assurance of certain business processes where applicable.
  • Apply and coordinate change management where needed.
  • Identify and apply improvements towards any related tasks that will reduce operational efforts and risks.
  • Support the Business Risk team with program or project related work.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification.
  • 5+ years working experience in legal, compliance or risk management.
  • Excellent Communication Skills (Written and Verbal)
  • Advanced experience in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Proven track record of successful project management applied.
  • Proven track record of successful process design and implementation applied.
  • Proven track record of applied change management.
  • Proven ability to simplify complex information, share it in structure way, and manage expectations in a professional manner.
